Womb Service

Linking up with the adorable and classy preggo mom, Katrina at Cedars and Tiny Flowers.
When I was pregnant with Solomon,

I had cravings of a variety of types.
The "I eat them all day 10 times a day" type:
green apples taste like candy

The "My craving is too big for my stomach" type:
Shawn: How many grapefruit do you want me to pick up?
Me:  12

The "I make my husband buy me some on a whim" type:
peach ice cream
The "I make my husband buy me some on a whim but change my mind when it arrives" type:
It doesn't sound good, or even tolerable, now that it's here.

THEN
When I was pregnant with Dominic,
I didn't have cravings.  Instead, Dominic operated my brain like a crazed binging maniac screaming, "Chocolate!  More Chocolate!  Cola!  More Chocolate!" all day every day for 9 months.  I didn't really even like brownies that much before Dominic entered the womb.
You see, it was out of my hands, so I surrendered.
THEN
When I was pregnant with Wilson,
I needed one thing only to sustain me.

Carbs.

Healthy.

Just keeping it real.

  1. Oh goodness! I had some peach ice cream while I was pregnant and it was so good that I actually didn't want to try to find a substitute for fear that it wouldn't be as good as that one time. It was homemade at a hometown restaurant and I just didn't believe anything would ever top it, but I dreamed about it every day!

  2. Loooooved this! Thank you for keeping it real. You are too funny. Last pregnancy was so carbs for me. I am fascinated that all of your cravings have been so different!

  3. Carbs, fruity, chocolate....that almost covers my spectrum, too!

    1. It is so crazy. Fast food was big with my first one too. Namely, Big Macs.
