What I Wore Sunday

To be perfectly honest, I wore this Saturday night to Mass, as my husband couldn't go Sunday.
I wore another black and white dress.  Figures.  It may surprise you not at all to know that my wardrobe consists of a great deal of black and white, or plain black dresses.  Yawn on, people, it may not change any time soon.
jacket:  Old Navy, dress:  H&M, shoes:  Target  Pearls you can't really see here:  Aspen Traders
Belt:  Off of some maternity dress from Target
Summer sandals in black heels or flats would be fun - anyone know some good deals?
As I listened to the Gospel, I shifted a little uncomfortably at my, "we've got time, let's take care of the near empty gas tank" making us arrive late after the opening song.  Jesus essentially said, "drop everything" to his followers and I could've waited until after Mass to fill 'er up.  Father's homily this week focused on the hurry that we should have to serve God.  The same kind of hurry that Mary had when she went quickly to see Elizabeth because she was eager to share the good news.  What an awesome reminder about how we want to be eager to share the powerful message.  It reminded me of the beautiful thing I read in this post by Jenny - specifically #9 - about being a witness to the culture of life.  So I'm pumped to go out there this week and love sharing that message of joy!  (Anyone else notice how many more strangers connect over cute newborns in public?  People love babies.)

This last week, wonderful people have been taking my kids on one-on-one dates.  Which rocks.  Nana(my Aunt Diana) took Sol to her house overnight.  My brother-in-law, Austin, took each boy on a different day to the Exploration Place.
Grandma took Dom to a puppet show and some other places for a whole day.  See the excited on his face?

And the best: my mother-in-law took Dom to the lake with her for the whole weekend!
Sunday afternoon, my dad is taking Sol golfing.
I really was patting myself on the back for my productive week until this fact occurred to me, leaving me sort of realizing that I have a bunch of others to thank for that.  Pretty much always the case.

In other news, I was craving some bierocks, and my niece and I made a few 36 of them Saturday night.  I froze a ton for later.

So, Dom with Grandma, Sol with Dad, leaving me with exactly: 1 whole baby child.    I'm going to convince Wilson that we need a nap.  It will be glorious.  I'm jealous of napping me right now.

  1. Hi Emily. That outfit is pure perfection. You clearly rock a black and white dress. No yawns here! ;-)

  2. I love that outfit, head to toe! That dress is fantastic and makes me want to run out to H&M right now! If you are looking for shoes and have a DSW near you, that is my go to, and they are having a huge clearance sale right now with triple points if you are a Rewards Member. :)

Beautiful reflection on the Gospel, too. Aren't we always fretting about something or other more than leaving everything and following Jesus? Well, at least I am.

Hope you and your napping self are now one!

    1. Thank you, it may be like 9 H&M seasons old, but I feel like H&M has my number on clothes.
I am definitely in constant need of the Gospel reminder!
      I did enjoy a nap :)

    1. Old Navy's where it's at. This would be my second jean jacket from there. The first was worn for 3 years and then lost, otherwise it would be the only one I ever need!

  5. I love your dress! :)
I feel like I am being hit over the head with the "God before everything" message recently. As a busy homeschooling mom to three booys, I know I need to hear it!
One last thing - oh, my, yum! Those things look tasty!

  7. Love the dress. It's so hard to find fun and stylish with perfect little sleeves AND just the right length.

I do not know what a bierock is, but I want to eat one.

  9. That dress is beautiful and it looks so comfortable too. As far as sandals go, I have had huge luck at DSW online. They have had several good sales lately and I got my sandals for about $22. Very comfortable and stylish too. I am now following you on Bloglovin!! Yay!

  10. That dress is so fun and cute! The pink splash of color from the belt is a great addition. I, too, have a lot of gray, black, and white in my closet...but over the past couple years I have tried to cut back on those and add more color! :)

    1. I have realized that I need to too. But then, I set out to get something color and wind up with nothing or MORE black and white! Still going to keep trying.

    1. Thank you! It's the hair I ran from until about 3 years ago! Grass is greener...

And about H&M, don't they KNOW how many of us would get into the online ordering! There isn't one here, either, so this is from a NY trip 5 years ago! Everything I see from there I just love. Every trip that takes me near one means I have to go.
